Mission for Vision joined forces with New Foundations to set up their first vision centre in Nigeria. Accessible only by boat the centre has been set up to serve the remote communities of the Delta state. Two rooms were allocated which provides facilities for sight testing, dispensing and spectacle glazing. Ian Squire and optometrist Tom Dawson carried out training for New Fondation staff who will receive further training in Kinshasa next year when the Mission for Vision training centre is opened. The team also carried out eye clinics in the remote village of Ekameta. Alex Tinson provided bible teaching to the local pastors and Graeme Tucker assisted with the clinics and the setting up of the centre. David and Shirley Donovan set up New Foundations 10 years ago and have done a great job discipling and nurturing a wonderful team of health care workers employed from the local community.
